JP Gloria, DPTShortly after graduating with a doctorate in physical therapy from Seton Hall University in 2018, JP knew he wanted a lifestyle change from his native New Jersey. While he thoroughly enjoyed growing up on the East coast as well as the fellowship and rigorous studies during his bachelors and doctorate programs at the university, he was ready for a warmer climate and the lifestyle changes California has to offer. JP has a passion for running – whether it is finding a new hidden community trail or analyzing the body mechanics of a running athlete.
JP treats his patients through an individualized program to develop and improve one’s strength, balance, mobility, and movement. Treatment may include therapeutic exercises and activities, functional training, and/or assistive technology to maximize a patient’s clinical outcomes so they can achieve their PT goals. JP cares for a variety of conditions such as sports injuries, gait training, as well as back, knee, and shoulder pain. JPs interest in movement patterns was sparked as an adolescent while animating characters for video games. His fascination with analyzing body mechanics led him to a career in physical therapy as well as a new-found strong presence on social media. In 2018, JP started a You Tube channel as a platform to analyze a variety of topics related to running, movement, and physical therapy. In just a couple of years, his channel has grown to 24k subscribers and has nearly 3.8 million views! He has since expanded his analysis videos to Instagram and in a short time, already has over 40,000 followers. He humbly admits his surprise to the success he has had on social media. “I started the channel as a fun way to analyze the moving mechanics of runners. It has helped me further my understanding of how to optimize athletic performance. I have also really enjoyed the connections I have been able to make while using the platforms,” states JP. |
